Below are some unscientific tests done on my Beagleboard. I hooked up my multimeter to determine current draw for several states.
Here are the results.
During Xubuntu boot, with 1x webcam and Wifi stick:
.500A to .900A
Boot, no attachments:
.300-.450A
Boot, no atachments but checking SD filesystem:
~.400A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, no USB Attachments:
.350A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 1x logitech mp5500 webcam attached (100% load):
.550A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 1x logitech C200 webcam attached (100% load):
.500A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 1x logitech C500 webcam attached (100% load):
.525A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 2x logitech webcams attached (100% load):
.600A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 2x logitech webcams attached and usb wifi stick (100% load):
.850A
At Xubuntu login, running motion, 2x logitech webcams attached (~6% load):
.460A
Take all of the above with a grain of salt given the unscientific nature of the testing.

Comments
This was a very helpful post for us. We were looking for an estimate of the maximum power consumption for a Wi-Fi card on a BeagleBoard.
We're especially appreciative of the fact you noted 100% load on the Wi-Fi card.
You saved us a measurement.
Best,
Chris
